The special counsel investigating former President Donald Trump is now getting into the nitty gritty.
Special Counsel Jack Smith has subpoenaed former Vice President Mike Pence.
Additionally, former National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien has been called in.
Let the Games Begin
Now that Pence has been called, the big question is if he will actually testify.
He could claim executive privilege, which would likely kick off a massive legal battle.
Trump has already stated that if he gets called, he will refuse to participate.
Trump had stated, “I have been going through this for six years — for six years I have been going through this, and I am not going to go through it anymore.
“And I hope the Republicans have the courage to fight this.”
Pence has been quiet about this for the most part, and Smith has been hearing witnesses since November.
Pence has been making his own moves for months, but he has yet to say if he will enter the presidential race, get behind another candidate, or just run for a different audience.
Over the next month or so, all those questions will be answered.
