Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has recently announced a criminal referral of Dr. Anthony Fauci to the Department of Justice, in relation to his apparent lying during Congressional testimony earlier this year.
In particular, Fauci had been adamant that the National Institutes of Health had never funded any gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, yet Senator Paul argued at the time that such research was being conducted and accused Fauci of playing word games.
A newly revealed February 2020 email between him, other associates and UK science researcher Dr. Jeremy Farrar shows that not only did Fauci use the term “gain-of-function” in reference to work done at WIV but also expressed serious doubts as to whether COVID was naturally occurring or not.
This contradicted his statements months later during congressional testimony and raising questions over possible complicity in funding work which could have unleashed COVID on the world.
In response, it appears as though senior scientists including then NIH head Francis Collins launched a secret effort to suppress these theories, with claims that they were attempting to stop “disinformation” and even going so far as bullying scientists who had received grant money from them into backing down from their views.
This is evidenced by an op-ed published by Steven Mosher around this same time which suggested a lab leak source for COVID yet was quickly taken down by Facebook and Twitter due to those claims of “disinformation”.
Now it seems increasingly likely that the US federal government believes COVID originated from a lab due to evidence suggesting three employees from WIV tested positive for COVID prior even its first reported cases.
This lends further credence towards this theory yet making it ever more unlikely we will ever know for sure what truly happened without any real inquiry into China’s involvement early on in pandemic circumstances.
