Well, it would appear that Hunter Biden just lost one of the bullets in his gun.
One of Hunter’s top attorneys has resigned.
This happens just as Hunter’s sweetheart’s plea deal is about to be scrutinized.
Not Good
It is never a good sign when an attorney leaves just before the heat gets turned up.
Attorney Chris Clark, who has been with Hunter for quite some time, has decided to bail.
Clark’s motion to withdraw from the case stated that it was “necessitated by recent developments in the matter.”
The Delaware Rules of Professional Conduct state, “A lawyer shall not act as an advocate at a trial in which the lawyer is likely to be a necessary witness unless..disqualification of the lawyer would work substantial hardship on the client.”
So, my guess here is that Clark will end up being a witness in the investigation into the plea deal, so he can no longer represent Hunter.
The filing also stated that this would not cause “hardship” for Hutner, as he has other attorneys on his team.
The deal in question would have given Hutner a slap on the wrist for tax and gun violations while giving him immunity against future charges.
The deal was a deal that only the son of a sitting president could land, but the judge in the case rejected the deal and sent them back to the table.
Since then, one of the prosecutors that worked on that deal, David Weiss, has been appointed the special counsel for the ongoing Hunter Biden probe.
