The Republican National Committee has been abuzz of late with the news that former President Donald Trump is shattering records of support for a single candidate in the GOP race to take on President Joe Biden next year.
The latest Rasmussen poll shows him garnering an impressive 60 percent of likely primary voters, giving him a staggering 47-point lead over his closest rival, Vivek Ramaswamy.

With his formidable 54 percent average nationally – surpassing the critical 50 percent threshold – it’s clear that Trump enjoys widespread and deep-rooted popularity among Republicans.
Among his devoted followers, 83 percent said they are “absolutely certain” about their support in the GOP primary.
In stark contrast, only 38% of DeSantis supporters expressed similar certainty about their choice, signaling that something could still sway them away from the Florida governor.
This strong showing for President Trump combined with other surveys indicating he could beat Joe Biden in a head-to-head matchup have caused much excitement within the RNC ahead of its first debate set for August 23rd in Milwaukee.
All participants must meet certain polling and fundraising benchmarks as well as sign a “loyalty pledge” to back the party’s eventual nominee.
However, Donald Trump refuses to sign such a pledge due to his confidence in his own success.
He has even gone so far as to suggest hosting an alternative event if he doesn’t appear at the RNC debate due to being “up by too many points.”
RealClearPolitics’ data further reveals that today a generic GOP candidate would beat out their Democratic competitor 48 percent to 43 percent – yet another testament to Donald Trump’s enduring influence on American politics and culture.
