Donald Trump cannot catch a break these days.
The man is facing four criminal indictments, a couple of civil suits, and now a rogue judge who decided to allow a 14th Amendment case to move forward.
Numerous attempts have been made, but this is the first time a judge has entertained this idiotic notion.
The Ballot
The case is in Colorado, with a judge who has donated to Democrats.
Not only that, she donated to a group that was formed specifically because of what happened on January 6, openly against Trump.
The judge, of course, says she had no idea she donated to the cause and thought she was donating to an individual candidate, as if that makes a difference.
Rep. Boebert (R-CO) responded, “Any effort to keep President Trump off the ballot in Colorado or any other state are pathetic attempts at overturning the will of the American people.
“It has become clear that lawfare will be the Left’s preferred method of battle in 2024 and our job is to fight back against it at every turn.
“With the federal government so weaponized against our side, the need to take back the White House has never been so critical.”
Trump attorney Scott Gesler added, “People should be able to run for office and shouldn’t be punished for their speech.
“The claim that there was an insurrection – what constitutes an insurrection really needs to be grounded in historical usage.”
Even though the case truly has no legal ground, the judge will be the deciding factor here, and the fact she did not throw this case out is not a good sign for Trump.
If he loses, however, he would likely win on appeal at the appellate or Supreme Court level.
