Former Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) has had a bit of a tough run.
While serving our country, McSally claimed that she had been raped by a superior officer.
Since leaving office, she has made motivational speeches on the subject.
Sadly, she now has one more experience to add to her speech.
Just Horrifying
McSally was reportedly running along the Iowa-Nebraska border when the incident took place.
The man reportedly caught her from behind, then proceeded to fondle and assault her, but McSally was able to break free and flip the script.
She chased the man into a covered brush area and then called the police.
While they did not arrest the man then, they were able to track the alleged assailant down and put him in custody later in the day.
McSally says her speeches are about “courage and heart, and how to be a brave heart.
“And I just had it put to the test.
“A man came up behind me, and he engulfed me in a bear hug, and he molested and fondled me until I fought him off.
“I was in a fight-flight-or-freeze, and I chose to fight.
“I ran after him, I threw my water bottle at him, and I chased him into the brush, where he was then hiding as I called 911 and waited for the police to come.”
McSally is also a former member of the House, getting elevated to Senator via a direct appointment after Senator John McCain (R-AZ) passed away.
McSally lost her special election in 2020 to Senator Mark Kelly (R-AZ), who also went on to defend the seat in his first general election campaign.
