The mayor of Denver, Colorado, stated that he is willing to go to jail to protect illegal aliens — which is perfect because President-elect Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan said that he is willing to make that happen.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston (D) — who has overseen a massive influx of illegal aliens, forcing the taxpayers to fund their lifestyles — vowed earlier this month that any effort by Trump to implement his planned mass deportations in Denver would lead to a “Tiananmen Square moment” with the city’s police and residents standing up for the criminal illegal aliens. He also claimed that he was willing to go to jail to try and stop Trump from deporting Denver’s illegal alien population.

He later slightly walked back those comments, claiming that he would be a “ready partner” if Trump’s plan was only to deport violent criminals. However, Johnston then walked back those comments in a separate interview, where he was asked whether he would allow Trump to enlist Denver police to deal with deportations, to which he responded: “Absolutely not. We won’t do it.”
Meanwhile, Homan is perfectly happy with Johnston’s offer to go to jail over the issue. During a Monday night interview with Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, the soon-to-be border czar declared that these sanctuary cities and states are “absolutely breaking the law.”
“But look, me and the Denver Mayor, we agree on one thing. He’s willing to go to jail. I’m willing to put him in jail,” Homan added. “Because there’s a statute, it’s Title 8, United States Code 1324, and what it says is, it’s a felony if you knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien from immigration authorities.”
“It’s also a felony to impede a federal law enforcement officer,” he continued. “So, if we don’t get help, That’s fine. He can get the hell out of the way. But we’re going to go do the job. President Trump has a mandate for the American people. We got to secure this country. We got to save American lives.”
“I find it hard to believe that any mayor or governor would say they don’t want public safety threats removed from their neighborhoods…I don’t know what the hell is going on in Denver, but we’re going to go and we’re going to fix it. If he don’t want to fix it, if he don’t want to protect his communities, President Trump and ICE will,” Homan concluded.
