Conservatives are celebrating after the Biden-Harris administration paused a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mass parole program for illegal aliens, citing rampant fraud that many conservatives warned about.
In mid-July, DHS paused the program in response to an internal report that uncovered a massive amount of fraud in the applications to be a sponsor for illegal aliens. President Joe Biden’s parole program allowed up to 30,000 illegal aliens to enter the U.S. from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela per month as long as they have a sponsor living in the country.
“Out of an abundance of caution, DHS has temporarily paused the issuance of advanced travel authorizations for new beneficiaries while it undertakes a review of supporter applications. DHS will restart application processing as quickly as possible, with appropriate safeguards,” the department explained in a statement.
House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) issued a statement on Friday celebrating the pause, pointing out that the decision “vindicates every warning we have issued” now that the data is out. Conservatives have been expressing concerns about the illegal alien parole program, pointing out that the vetting system for both applicants and sponsors was seriously lacking.
“This admission by the Biden-Harris administration vindicates every warning we have ever issued about the unlawful CHNV mass-parole program,” Green wrote in the statement obtained by Just The News. “This is exactly what happens when you create an unlawful mass-parole program in order to spare your administration the political embarrassment and bad optics of overrun borders. The Biden-Harris administration should terminate the CHNV program immediately.”
According to the internal report, there was significant fraud in the mass parole system — including the same social security numbers, addresses and telephone numbers being used hundreds of times. The report revealed that 24 of the 1,000 most used numbers belonged to a dead person, while 100 physical addresses had been used between 124-739 times on more than 19,000 sponsor forms.

This news comes as DHS continues to sort through over one million applications, with data from October 2023 showing roughly 1.6 million applicants waiting for the Biden-Harris administration to let them enter the United States.
While the Biden-Harris administration claims that the mass parole program and their controversial CBP One app are “lawful” means of entering the U.S., conservatives and some legal analysts don’t agree. Nonetheless, this means that these individuals are not counted among the yearly illegal crossings numbers.
NEW: Updated CBP data shows the Biden admin has now admitted more than 1 million migrants into the U.S. via its controversial CBP One App & CHNV mass parole flights programs.
636,600 migrants have used CBP One app appointments at ports of entry.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) also celebrated the pause, though he demanded that the program be suspended permanently.
“Shut it down permanently. This program should have never existed in the first place. It’s just another way the Biden-Harris Administration has welcomed hundreds of thousands of aliens into our country, unchecked,” he wrote in a post on X.
