Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R., Va.) is much more preferred in Virginia than President Joe Biden, according to a recent state-wide survey.
Half of Virginians polled agree that Youngkin is actually performing, whereas just 41 percent of them approve of Biden’s job performance. A bulk of Virginians– 53 percent– disapprove of the project Biden is actually carrying out, whereas 41 percent Youngkin. The poll was administered by Roanoke University from Feb. 7 to 16 and surveyed much more than 600 Virginia citizens.
Youngkin bested Democrat and former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe in November, whisked into office through parents seeking to be more involved in education and curriculum. In his January during his inaugural address, Youngkin vowed to “remove politics from the classroom.” He shortly after given out manager orders to finish “the use of divisive concepts, including critical race theory” coming from public schools and also to “allow parents to make decisions on whether their child wears a mask in school.”
The Virginia poll reveals 51 percent of state voters approve of Youngkin’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, whereas just 44 percent disapprove. Virginians disagreed with the Governor, nevertheless, over his executive order on masking in schools: 52 percent took issue with the step, while 46 percent agreed.
In February, however, Virginia ended school mask mandates after 10 Democratic state Senators joined their Republican colleagues to codify Youngkin’s exec order. Youngkin signed the bill into rule on Feb. 16.
Recently Youngkin’s Press Secretary released a tweet outlining the Governor’s proposal to give Va. families a $1,500 tax break, doubling standard tax deduction to $18,000.

The Virginia Governor also took steps to differentiate himself from the Biden WhiteHouse by joining 24 other Governors calling upon him to restore America’s energy independence. In part, the statement read:
“As governors, we call on President Biden to reverse his policies and restore America’s energy independence for our citizens as well as our allies abroad,” the governors said in a statement obtained exclusively by CBS News. “By removing his bans on new oil and gas development on federal lands, building the Keystone XL pipeline, and reinstating regulatory reforms to streamline energy permitting, we can protect our national energy security and sell to our friends rather than buy from our enemies—specifically Russia.”
I’m proud to stand with the other 24 governors in calling @POTUS to restore America’s energy independence to aid Americans that are facing high prices at the gas pump and record inflation. https://t.co/d3lcKM6T9e
