Social media users are calling Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) out for admitting what many already knew about Vice President Kamala Harris — she is pretending to be moderate to win the election while hiding her true leftist views.
Harris was deemed the most liberal senator by GovTrack in 2019, even further left than socialist Bernie Sanders. She has previously supported taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal aliens, Medicare For All, the Green New Deal, and numerous other far-left policies. However, after beginning her presidential campaign on July 21, Harris has suddenly adopted more moderate positions while simultaneously claiming that her values haven’t changed.

Conservatives and many independents were skeptical about this sudden change, with many pointing out that Harris is just changing her public views to appease moderates, but has no intention of following through with these moderate policies if she is elected. Many believe that Harris will immediately switch back to being a radical leftist upon taking office.
Sanders effectively confirmed this during an interview on NBC’s “Meet The Press” with host Kristen Welker on Sunday — telling viewers that Harris is simply being “pragmatic” when she flip-flops on issues.
The discussion began when Welker questioned Sanders about those flip-flops, asking: “You have described Vice President Kamala Harris as a progressive. She has previously supported Medicare For All. Now, she does not. She’s previously supported a ban on fracking. Now, she does not. These, senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do you think that she is abandoning her progressive ideals?”
“No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals,” Sanders responded. “I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election. My own view is slightly different. I think that in America today there are a lot of people, rural people, working class people, who no longer believe that the United States Congress and government represents their interests, too dominated by big-money interest.”
Social media users were quick to highlight Sanders’ comments as proof that Harris is lying to the American people — including the Trump campaign’s “War Room” X account, which shared the clip with a caption in bold and all capital letters, writing: “QUIET PART OUT LOUD.”

Rogan O’Handley, who is known on social media as the popular user “DC Draino,” also shared the clip — arguing that it “needs to be everywhere.”
“Bernie Sanders is confirming that Kamala is doing whatever it takes to win the election,” he added, predicting that “she’ll enact Marxist policies” if she wins the presidency.
“They’re openly telling us their plans,” he noted.
