Democrat Flips to Republican

BREAKING: Democrat Flips to Republican

Another Democrat politician has switched his party registration to Republican after being turned off by the left’s insane policies.

Alec Brook-Krasny, a former New York Democrat state assemblyman, has announced that he is switching his party registration to Republican because he is turned off by Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies.

Brook-Krasny’s decision to switch parties was announced just as he is reportedly planning a potential run for his old Assembly seat in a conservative-trending southern precinct in Brooklyn, according to reporting from the New York Post.

“I can’t believe everything that’s going on in the Democratic party, all the calls to ‘defund the police,’ the cancel culture. It goes against my character and my nature,” Brook-Krasny told the Post.

The 46th District, the conservative-trending precinct where he is planning a potential run, includes — thanks to redistricting — Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights. Brook-Krasny would be facing Democrat incumbent Mathylde Frontus in the race for his old seat, if he decided to run.

Speaking about the elimination of cash bail for most crimes thanks to progressives in New York, the former Democrat said: “Members of Democratic Party turned on the police — the people who provide safety and security to our constituents.”

Brook-Krasny also spoke about the issue of school choice, which he is in favor of, saying that the Democrats’ opposition to it is “un-American.”

The former Democrat went on to predict that other moderate and conservative-leaning Democrats would switch to the Republican Party eventually.

“I think this is just the beginning,” Brook-Krasny said. “I think we will see a trend. I’ve tried for a long time, but I don’t think I can change the Democratic party from the inside out, so it’s time to work from the outside.”

Brooklyn Republican Party chairman Ted Ghorra has welcomed Brook-Krasny into the GOP.

“The Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies [have] shifted public opinion. The Democratic-run state Legislature had the audacity to raise taxes in the middle of a pandemic,” Ghorra said.
