In a January 18th interview with CBS’s “Mornings,” Senator Elizabeth “Pocahontas” Warren (D-MA) once again spewed outright lies and misinformation to the American people.
Warren, who Donald Trump nicknamed “Pocahontas” after she was exposed for lying about Native American ancestry, just can’t stop herself from telling lies.
During the interview, the Massachusetts senator claimed that Republican-led state legislatures across the country are trying to prevent “black people, brown people, college students” and “people who live on tribal reservations” from voting.
As she was trying to argue for the Democrats “voting rights” legislation — which would actually federalize elections, and make them less secure across the country — Warren argued that because these minorities and college students “might vote Democratic,” the “Republicans are doing everything they can” to keep them from voting.
The radical election legislation has essentially failed in Congress because it does not have the 60 votes necessary to overcome the filibuster in the Senate. Democrats were attempting to fix that problem by getting rid of the filibuster, but they were unable to do so. The Senate is currently split 50-50, with Kamala Harris being the tie-breaker. They needed all 50 Democrats to vote to eliminate the filibuster rule, but two of them — Senators Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and Joe Manchin (D-WV) — sided with the Republicans in keeping the rule.
The Democrats’ hopes for the “voting rights” legislation to pass are dwindling, but Warren refuses to admit that during her interview.
“Look, I am not declaring this bill dead because we can’t. It is absolutely too important,” Warren said.
“Understand it this way — voting is foundational,” she added. “That is the whole premise of our democracy. And before we get to the procedural part, keep this in mind: that state legislatures all across the country controlled by Republicans are doing everything they can to keep people from voting. Who are they trying to keep from voting? Black people, brown people, college students, people who live on tribal reservations, trying to keep those folks from voting because they might vote Democratic. Every single senator who is a Republican in the United States Senate has said they’re not going to do anything. They’re letting the states do whatever they want.”
Of course, what Elizabeth Warren is referring to is the Democrats’ unfounded — and racist — claim that voter-ID laws somehow prevent minorities from voting. The left is under the impression that minorities are somehow incapable of obtaining driver’s licenses, while white people are perfectly capable of doing so (the soft bigotry of low expectations).
While the left won’t stop whining about how voter-ID will hurt minorities, minorities actually want voter-ID laws. A Monmouth University Polling Institute survey released in June of 2021 showed that 84 percent of non-white respondents said they supported requiring photo ID. Clearly, there’s a different reason the left doesn’t want voter-ID… What could it be?
