Putin Just Trashed It

Russia is getting cold glares from Antony Blinken after backing out of the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. Vladimir Putin isn’t going to work with us on limiting nuclear warheads. Instead, he’s planning on using a few of the ones he has. Starting with Ukraine but maybe sending some our way, too.

Russia bashed by Blinken

Minister of State Antony Blinken hasn’t been having a good month. It started off with a Chinese spy balloon forcing him to cancel his big trip to Beijing, then he had to chase their Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, all over Munich to get a few words in with him.

Blinky demanded to know what gives with the airspace incursions? Wang didn’t even bother answering that. Instead, he reminded Blinken that we’re acting way to big for our britches. Joe Biden needs to stay out of their impending arms deal with Russia and even more importantly, stay away from Taiwan.

Word around the beltway is that if China does for Russia what Joe Biden just did for Ukraine, send “lethal aid,” that automatically means World War. Everyone lost track of the count because III seems to have come and gone without anyone noticing. Whatever number this one is, it’s likely to go nuclear.

That’s why Blinky “bashed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to suspend a nuclear pact with the U.S., calling it ‘deeply unfortunate and irresponsible.” We’re watching you, Blinken frostily declares.

As a result, Politico writes, the U.S. will “be watching carefully to see what Russia actually does.” Blinky is hoping this is a bluff. “We’ll of course make sure that, in any event, we are postured appropriately for the security of our country and our allies.

The treaty in question dates back to 2010 and “limits the number of strategic nuclear warheads both countries can deploy.” Once you have enough to blast the crust off the entire planet, does it really matter how many spares there are? Both sides already have more than enough to do the job, despite the treaty.

As Joe slips into Ukraine

The announcement came from Moscow on Tuesday, along with accusations that we’re “involved in attempting to strike bases in Russia.” It was also the same day “Biden was in Poland to give a speech marking the one-year anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and one day after he made a surprise visit to Kyiv.

The way things are going, Biden is going to do himself in climbing the stairs on Air Force One. He slipped up them again on this trip. Also a staffer slid down them earlier in the week. Those stairs are more dangerous than the air in East Palestine, Ohio. Joe’s really afraid of going there.

Russia was already violating the treaty. Biden’s handlers accused the Kremlin of “not complying with the treaty by not allowing the United States and NATO to inspect its nuclear facilities.

No, sorry you can’t get a look at our Poseidon nuclear torpedoes or SATAN II missiles. They can’t have a pact which “includes limits on systems such as intercontinental ballistic missiles and deployed nuclear warheads.” They want to keep any advantage they can.

Blinky is furious. He wants them to go back to the way things were. “When the administration started, we extended New START because it was clearly in the security interest in our country and actually in the security interests of Russia.

That, he insists, “only underscores what an irresponsible action this is.” He’s ready to talk but nobody is calling him. That’s making him really nervous. “Of course, we remain ready to talk about strategic arms limitations at any time with Russia,” Blinken added, “irrespective of anything else going on in the world.” Just remember, when you see the flash, “duck and cover.
