Vice President Kamala Harris was mocked on social media after a video went viral of her speaking to high school students like toddlers during a campaign stop.
Campaigning as the official Democrat presidential nominee alongside her radical running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), Harris was speaking to a high school band about leadership.
In a clip of the speech that went viral on X, Harris is clearly over-enunciating every single syllable and speaking slowly, as if she was talking to toddlers who were not able to keep up with or understand what she was saying.
“Our country is counting on you,” she said in an incredibly condescending voice, nodding her head after every word she spoke and exaggeratedly gesturing with her hands for added emphasis. “All of you. You are leaders. By the very fact that you all are here in this room, doing what you do at this incredible school, doing it as one big team, understanding all the different parts that fit together to create a team.”

Critics hilariously mocked the Democrat nominee for her exaggerated and awkward communication style, arguing that this clip perfectly exemplifies why her campaign has pushed her to avoid unscripted events, interviews, and press conferences.
“Kamala explains the concept of how teams work together to a high school band as if they are 5 years old,” conservative communications strategist Greg Price wrote in a post on X. “It’s a real mystery why her handlers never let her speak without a script.”

Another user agreed with Shapiro’s point, sharing screenshots of Harris with her odd hand gestures and writing: “When Kamala has no idea what she’s talking about, the hands start flailin.”

Other users were sad that they were unable to see the students’ reaction, as it would have been obvious to the high schoolers that they were being talked down to.
I wish they showed the students’ reaction 🤣

Another user pointed out that Harris “always does this,” adding: “She literally talks down to people, because she believes she is the smartest person in the room. Reality is, she is probably the dumbest person in the room.”
