Well, while not officially on the record, the White House has finally admitted that Joe is old.
The media have noticed that Biden has been using the lower steps on Air Force One the last few trips, among other concessions.
The official White House position was the usual garbage, but some staffers were willing to offer up the real reason for the switch.
Joe’s Old
Throughout the first two years of Joe Biden’s presidency, he has fallen up the steps more times than I can count.
We have not seen that as of late, and there is good reason for it.
Joe’s team has made the decision that Joe will use the lower steps of Air Force One.
Joe has also been wearing sneakers for better traction to help avoid that embarrassing video.
When asked for an official stance, the White House responded, “There are a series of factors that go into the logistical decision-making on this, including weather, what kind of airport we’re landing at and whether there is a formal greeting planned for the tarmac where we expect that press will want an official photo at the bottom of the tall stairs.
“There’s not one hard and fast rule — it is a decision made on a variety of factors in a wide range of settings and circumstances.”
A few aides, however, spilled the beans off the record.
The administration has moved to the lower steps because the steps are smaller and easier for Joe to navigate.
Up until the last few months, Biden fought the idea of wearing anything but dress shoes, but it is campaign season, and Joe cannot afford to have those videos going viral, so he has agreed to take a more casual approach on Air Force One to save face, often wearing sneakers when he boards and departs the plane.
Joe asked everyone to watch and judge him, well, we have, and it is not a good grade.
