A motorcycle club in California has brought Christmas joy to seven needy families after blessing them with presents.
The One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club in Salinas, California, adopted seven needy families for Christmas this year, delivering dozens of gifts to parents and children to “bring some joy to them.”
One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club member Alex Halcon told the media at the event that many of the families that he and his fellow motorcyclists had helped would not have been able to have a normal Christmas without their help. The gifts were distributed to all of the families on Saturday.
“So we tried to do it to just bring some joy to them. When we deliver gifts to the family, just the smile on their face, you could tell that it makes a tremendous impact on them,” Halcon said.
According to local news station KION, the One Brotherhood Motorcycle Club works hard all year to raise funds to help families at Christmas, which has been the club’s tradition for the past 11 years.

Club Co-Founder Mark Lacuata explained: “There’s a family that we have this year that we helped before and they just have some hardships. We took them on again and we’re going to take care of them again. Seeing their faces, their faces very light up and they see us because they know that we’re going to take care of them.”
The motorcycle club’s website explains that club members adopt five to 10 families every year to help them for Christmas, noting that donations to the club help them to get everything they can from the families’ Christmas lists.
“We ride with purpose and passion, uniting the community. As ambassadors of change, we strive to make a positive impact on society through charitable initiatives and community outreach,” the site states.
KSBW spoke to one of the charity recipients, Kimberly Mendoza, who had been living in a car for several months with her family before finally moving into a home recently. She told the news station: “They surprised us with two beds and a bunch of gifts and this little plushie for my little sister. It’s a blessing, a blessing from God, and we are very appreciative of all of this.”
