Joe Biden giveth, and Joe Biden taketh away.
It was a big deal when the Mountain Valley Pipeline was approved.
It was also a big deal when a major project in Alaska was partially approved.
Now for the downside of those deals.
Blocking Pattern
While those two projects were approved, Joe Biden is busy gobbling up land to prevent future drilling.
To that point, more land has been grabbed by the feds, placing a 20-year ban on gas and oil projects.
Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, the first-ever Native American cabinet member, made the announcement of the latest land grab.
Haaland stated, “Efforts to protect the Chaco landscape have been ongoing for decades, as Tribal communities have raised concerns about the impacts that new development would have on areas of deep cultural connection.
“Today marks an important step in fulfilling President Biden’s commitments to Indian Country, by protecting Chaco Canyon, a sacred place that holds deep meaning for the Indigenous peoples whose ancestors have called this place home since time immemorial.”
Biden’s goal is block at least 30 percent of federal lands from new gas and oil projects by 2030.
Realistically, he has until 2024, so expect this trend to continue at rapid fire pace as this election gets closer.
