We are not very close to being directly involved in the Israel-Hamas War.
A second carrier strike force has now been sent to the eastern Mediterranean.
The USS Eisenhower is joining the USS Ford.
War Imminent
Over the last few days, there has been a lot of posturing for allies on both sides of this war.
Iran recently threatened the United States that if Israel conducts a ground assault, it would enter the war and attack Israel from a different front.
A ground assault is inevitable, especially if Israel wants to keep civilian casualties low.
We now have troops on alert and two carrier strike teams in place, so we are clearly ready to jump in when needed.
Secretary of Defense Austin stated, “I have directed the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG) to begin moving to the Eastern Mediterranean.
“As part of our effort to deter hostile actions against Israel or any efforts toward widening this war following Hamas’s attack on Israel.”
The USS Bataan, which is an amphibious assault ship, has also been moved into the area.
With tensions rising, this has all the makings of the start of a World War.
If Iran enters the war, the United States will have to get involved to protect Israel.
If that happens, it then depends on the Russian and Chinese responses. If either of them enters the war, we have World War III on our hands.
