As if Bud Light did not have all the problems it could handle.
After Anheuser-Busch executives tried to put some distance between Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney, they faced another boycott.
This time it was gay bars in Chicago.
No Customers Left
Five gay bars in Chicago decided to support Mulvaney and boycott the beer.
One of the bars, Sidestack Bar, released a statement on the boycott.
It stated, “For 41 years Sidetrack has encouraged liquor and beer companies that have wished to garner the LGBTQ+ customer base to actively support our community.
“Bud Light’s recent decision to drop the Dylan Mulvaney campaign, to put on ‘leave’ those who created it, as well as the statement by its CEO, wrongfully validates the position that it is acceptable to acquiesce to the demands of those who do not support the Trans community and wish to erase LGBTQ+ visibility.”
Brendan Whitworth, who runs four bars in the Chicago area, also boycotted the beer.
He stated, “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.”
They removed Busch Light, Bud Light, and Goose Island 312 from the menu.
And you know since these bars did it, other gay bars will be right behind.
We could be watching the end of a major beer brand right before our eyes.
