China loving Nike, a company known for using slave labor to produce their products, has once again infuriated Americans. The company has begun sending out emails announcing that it will be firing employees for being unvaccinated in the very near future.
Nike, which claims to take a stand “against discrimination in communities worldwide,” apparently doesn’t apply that standard equally. The company loves China, a country that runs concentration camps that torture, forcibly sterilize, and harvest the organs of the Uyghur Muslim population. Nike also has a history of using slave labor to produce their products.
Now, their latest form of discrimination is against the unvaccinated population. While firing people from their jobs does not come close to supporting genocide, torture, or slave labor, it will have a serious impact on the lives of thousands of Americans, who will be unable to feed their families.
The China loving footwear company has begun sending out emails warning their employees against the consequences that they will be facing for being unvaccinated. Of course, ironically, they are still selling unvaccinated NBA star Kyrie Irving’s shoes.
“You failed to complete the verification process and our records show that you do not have an approved (exemption),” a recent e-mail sent to a Nike employee states. “As a result, you are not in compliance with the Policy and your employment is scheduled to be terminated on Saturday, January 15, 2022.”
While Nike employees were originally set to return to offices beginning January 10th as part of a new hybrid schedule, the company’s CEO, John Donahoe, has recently changed his mind, deciding to wait a bit longer. Despite this decision, he still plans on firing unvaccinated employees.
“We do believe over time that with innovation and a strong brand, we want to go to a hybrid model,” Donahoe said in December during an earnings call. “As you know, in the United States we have mandated vaccines and have a very high response rate to that. So we’re ready to come back in a hybrid work environment when that’s safe.”
