Gunshots Fired at Republican Congressional Candidate’s Home

An investigation over last month’s shooting of the home of Republican Congressional candidate Pat Harrigan’s parents. According to the local outlet, WBT News, the FBI is now involved.

Harrigan’s Campaign Manager told the press that a suspect fired into the home in Hickory, North Carolina where Harrigan’s 3 and 5-year-old daughters often spend the night. The shots fired into the home were just feet away from where the little girls normally sleep.

Thankfully, neither Harrigan nor his children were in the house at the time. Harrigan has since relocated his family out of state due to the rising security threats as election day draws near.

Harrigan is currently running against Democrat state Senator Jeff Jackson in North Carolina’s 14th congressional district. The Green Beret said in a statement on Thursday that Jackson’s politics have led to “rising inflation, economic ruin, and rampant crime, including political violence.”

“My mission is a better economy, less inflation & safe streets. A bullet & death threats aren’t enough to knock this Green Beret off that mission.” the statement continued.

Fox News reported that following the statement, Jackson’s campaign yanked a political ad from local stations. The ad featured Harrigan’s own house and criticized his gun manufacturing business.

The democrat’s ad also tried to poke fun at Harrigan’s ownership of a lakeside home. It showed a man on a jet ski telling viewers that Harrigan ‘made a fortune off tragedies such as the Sandy Hook school shooting.

Sickeningly, the ad was released on the day the shooting took place.

The democrat was quickly trying to distance himself from the heated rhetoric he started. The campaign spokesperson for Jackson, Tommy Cromie, made a statement to WCCB-TV, “We fully support law enforcement as they investigate this incident and believe any wrongdoing should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We at Team Jackson pulled our ad in an abundance of caution and concern, but to be clear, the home involved in the incident has never been featured in any of our advertising.”

Fox News was told by Harrigan’s campaign that he has started wearing a bulletproof vest to campaign events. This is due to the fact that the race has gotten extremely heated. Harrigan claims to be receiving multiple death threats.
