Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) recently appeared on CNN to talk about school safety.
CNN’s Dana Bash was asked Crenshaw what he thought a solution to keeping the kids safer would be.
Of course, she did not like his answer.
Protect the Children
There is a solution, and Crenshaw put it right on the table.
Bash stated, “Are you collectively, House Republicans, telling the American people that mass shootings, including of young children, is that just something that’s going to happen, and you’re not going to make any moves to try to stop it.”
Crenshaw offered up, “The truth of the matter is if we had a minimum of two armed guards or police officers at every single school in America, you’d probably prevent these from here on out.”
The fact of the matter is that we do not see shootings in schools that have armed officers.
The exception would have been the Uvalde shooting, but that should been prevented, with a variety of protocols being violated.
The officer on duty in that case had a shot at the shooter prior to entering the school and it was not taken.
The school doors were also open, which could have possibly delayed the shooter from getting in.
Democrats and the media push armed officers as more guns, but it is nothing more than the same security all of these people who are fighting it have on a daily basis.
Here is an idea… single point of entry with a bulletproof door, guarded by an officer. Additional exits, also bulletproof doors, that can only be triggered from the inside. The entrance door guarded by an officer, with a second armed officer positioned inside the school.
Do that, and you more than likely eliminate school shootings altogether.
