Trump Support Among Key American Demographic Grows

Amid polls showing former President Donald Trump leading among Arab American voters, a popular Dearborn restaurant owner issued a strong endorsement of Trump.

Ali Aljahmi — the owner the Yemeni restaurant “Sheeba,” one of the most popular restaurants in Dearborn, Michigan, an Arab American majority city — published a video on social media endorsing Trump.

Aljahmi explained in the video that “We all have a voice to use, and it’s so, so important for us to use that voice, especially in elections this critical.”

“We’re encouraging everyone to go out and vote. Your vote does really matter. We believe that your voice matters in our community, and that is why we are voting for Donald J. Trump,” he revealed, adding that this is not just an endorsement, but a call for other members of the Arab American community to step up and support Trump too.

“Not only do we fully endorse him, we encourage you, the community, to go out and vote for him. He has a proven track record of building the economy, securing our borders, and not only putting the people first, but putting America first,” Aljahmi continued, pointing out that he believes Trump is the “only candidate” who can make peace a reality.

“We want peace, and we believe that he’s the only candidate that can make that peace a reality. Go out and let your voices be heard,” he added. “Let’s bring back the prosperity that we need in this country, and make America great again.”

This surprising endorsement comes soon after recent polling showed Trump’s support among Arab Americans growing, spelling trouble for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign — as the data confirms that the Arab American community is frustrated with the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war. Apparently, the community would prefer Trump, the candidate promoting peace in the Middle East, over the Democrats who would rather fund both sides of the war.

The Arab American Institute poll showed Trump leading Harris among Arab American voters by a staggering four points nationally — which is a major shift from the 2020 election, when President Joe Biden won 60% of the Arab American vote.

Conservative American Middle Eastern PAC founder Michelle Moons Davi has been leading the effort to register many of these pro-Trump Arabs to vote, pointing to a past gap in “Republican outreach to register Middle Eastern Americans.”

“Since launching in Michigan, we have seen people willing to wait in line just to get registered and vote for Trump,” she explained.
