It looks like police have another mysterious case on their hands…
It was a somber day in Salisbury, Massachusetts Tuesday morning when local and state authorities began to investigate the death of a man whose body washed ashore overnight.
A person strolling along the beach around 1 am noticed a body floating near the Blue Ocean Music Hall on 4 Oceanfront Drive and called for help.
Upon arrival, police pulled the unidentified body from ankle-deep water and he was pronounced dead on site.
The Chief of Police Thomas Fowler reported that this man had multiple encounters with his officers due to suffering from mental health issues.
“He was known to our guys” said Fowler.
The police remained at the scene for four hours before they reopened the beach area back to public access.
The Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit is now conducting an investigation into this tragedy alongside the assistance of Salisbury Police Department.
They are withholding any information regarding identity or notification of next of kin until confirmation is made by both investigative departments involved.
