President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has decided that one of their last acts in office will be to give more American jobs to illegal aliens.

Apparently the Biden administration wants to go out the same way they came in: prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens and further destroying the job market.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced on Tuesday that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) was issuing a final rule that will allow millions of illegal aliens to keep their work permits for up to 540 days upon seeking renewal. This rule will go into effect on January 13, 2025.
Previously, illegal aliens could only renew their work permits for 180 days. Open borders Democrats have been begging DHS for years to extend this automatic employment authorization for illegals.
In a statement on the new rule, Mayorkas claimed that it is meant to help businesses “fill” American jobs with more illegal aliens — arguing that it will “eliminate red tape.” Apparently, the only bureaucratic red tape Democrats want to eliminate is the rules that prevent illegals from stealing American jobs.
“Increasing the automatic extension period for certain employment authorization documents will help eliminate red tape that burdens employers, ensure hundreds of thousands of individuals eligible for employment can continue to contribute to our communities, and further strengthen our nation’s robust economy,” the statement read.
USCIS Director Ur Jaddou also spoke out about the rule change, claiming that it will “help U.S. employers better retain their workers and help prevent workers with timely-filed [work permit] renewal applications from experiencing lapses in their employment authorization and employment authorization documentation through no fault of their own.”
Jaddou was blasted over the rule change during a House Immigration Subcommittee hearing last week, with committee Chairman Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) pointing out that Bidenflation has continuously outpaced American wages while foreign workers make up nearly all of the country’s job growth.
“Now we learn that the agency intends to increase temporary work permits from 180 days to 540 days,” McClintock said during the hearing. “If anyone wonders why real wages for working families have declined under this administration, look no further than the agency before us today.”

In the last year, more than one million foreign-born workers have taken American jobs, while at the same time nearly 800,000 native-born American citizens have left the workforce. A Pew Research Center study from July also revealed that as of 2022, there were more than 30 million legal immigrants and illegal aliens holding American jobs, which is a 20% increase over the past 15 years. This is higher than the number of native-born Americans added to the workforce during the same period, which was less than 10%.
