Electric vehicles might seem like a good idea in theory, and in theory they are.
The problem with them is once you try putting the theory into practice you realize that they are not exactly the mass use savior liberals seem to think that they are.
Don’t get me wrong here, I am not against the idea of electric vehicles, I just don’t think they are ready yet on a mass use scale.
You wouldn’t be able to get me to drive across country in an electric car because the second you can’t charge that thing you are well…kinda screwed and stuck in the middle of nowhere.
However, if it is one of those electric bikes that has the pedals in case your battery runs out. That makes sense. That’s more something designed for recreation and light transport rather than hoofing it across country.
But still, there are some people that insist on the idea of everyone using an electric car in the next handful of years.
Like I said, the infrastructure isn’t there, and a lot of the cars aren’t there either. For example, you have never heard of someone breaking their windows open because they can’t get out of their gas powered car because they ran out of gas.
Too many things can go wrong when it comes to the charging stations.
For starters, if you drive across country in one of these things you have to plan every last inch of your route based on where you will find a charging station.
Added to that, I have seen how long it takes for a charging station to full charge a vehicle. You could watch a good portion of a movie in the car while you’re waiting.
And then there’s the roving bands of thieves making it impossible for you to charge your car.
Oh, you’re wondering about the roving bands of thieves. Well, one of the things that you have to have a lot of to build a charging station is copper. Copper wiring for the charging cables is a big must due to the conductivity of copper.
What crooks are doing these days is they are cutting the charging cables as these EV charging stations and stripping the copper out of the cables.

Vandals severed every charging cable at a Tesla Supercharger station in Vallejo, California, leaving the facility completely inoperative.

Copper goes for a decent amount on the scrap market and it is actually a pretty good way for thieves to make a quick buck.
Put it to you this way, if you were driving a regular gas powered car, you’d never have to worry about showing up to a gas station to refuel and find out that a street gang stole the pumps.
