White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has a troublesome relationship with the truth. When you’re the mouthpiece of the Biden-Harris regime and employed to try vainly to make people believe the big lies, like ‘Joe Biden is the legitimate President of the United States,’ you can expect she’s going to struggle with some of the smaller lies. And in the business of being a compulsive liar, the devil is always in the details. Objective truth can only stretch so far. Let’s take a quick look at a few of Psaki’s most egregious recent lies.
According to Fox News,
“White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki accused Republicans of being the party of defunding the police on Monday — after “Defund the Police” became a rallying cry of progressive activists in 2020 and damaged Democrats’ appeal with moderate voters.”
Psaki told the Press, “Well, the president did mention that the American Rescue Plan, the state and local funding, something that was supported by the president, a lot of Democrats who supported and voted for the bill, could help ensure local cops were kept on the beat in communities across the country. As you know, [it] didn’t receive a single Republican vote. That funding has been used to keep cops on the beat,”
Psaki seems to have gained this skewed attempt at logic from Biden advisor Cedric Richmond who accused the GOP of defunding the police by refusing to vote for Biden’s so-called “American Rescue Plan”, a pork-packed progressive wish-list that only tangentially applied to COVID19 relief as it was advertised. A ridiculously disingenuous argument.
Let’s Review What REALLY Defunding The Police Looks Like
When You’re Not A Shameless Liar
Republicans in Congress refusing to accept the blackmail of some token Police funding is NOT “Defunding the police”. The Oakland City Council pulling $18.4 million from their Police budget in spite of pleading from the Police Chief… THAT is defunding the police.
The House GOP decided not to take the Democrat-Socialists’ perverse attempts to ‘flip the script’ on them lying down. They posted a video to Twitter highlighting the Democrat’s unwavering support for the #DefundThePolice movement. It features Reps. Ayanna Presley, Ilhan Omar, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago.
Pressley said “Yes. I support the defund movement. Because this is about the investment in our communities which have historically be di-vested.” Pressley is referring to routing money from Police to what Rep. Cori Bush called “transform public safety into a system of care rather than criminalization, healing rather than incarceration, and prevention rather than policing.”
Omar is heard to say, “Not only do we need to defund, but we need to dismantle and start anew.”
Ocasio-Cortez adds, “Why use the word defund? Why use the word defund? Because this is the word thats’ coming from the streets.
Finally, Mayor Lightfoot concludes, “Look the reality is: we can’t rely upon the police to provide public safety.”

Most conservative and even some mainstream news outlets were stunned by the blatant attempt at a spin-job from Psaki. In this business, one must expect lies, but we usually expect at least a marginal effort… this just felt…lazy.
When Fox’s Peter Doocy pointed out that Biden never mentioned funding for police to stop a crime wave during his entire effort to sell the bill you could hear a pin drop. Newsbusters remarked, “Incredibly, Psaki doubled down on the spin, saying that Republicans do indeed not support keeping police “on the beat in communities across the country” because they refused to vote for “the American Rescue Plan” and its “funding” to “help ensure local cops” kept their jobs.”
Hilariously, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) even tried to carry this water for Biden, but it just isn’t happening. People aren’t buying it for a second. The Democrats chose the #DefundThePolice movement as their ‘hill to die on’, it has backfired horrifically and all the GOP has to do is make sure they are FORCED to die on it in 2022.
I served in local government. A significant portion of local government funding goes to the police department. A significant portion of the American Rescue Plan went to local government.
It is simply a fact that every Republican Member of Congress voted NO on funding police. https://t.co/ru9weIWPlc
