GOP Divided in the House [INFO]

ICYMI- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) put a resolution on the floor to impeach Secretary Mayorkas.

That motion, however, was defeated.

This clearly shows just how divided the GOP caucus remains in the House.

Are You Kidding?

It is becoming quite clear that MTG is not well-liked in the caucus.

Once again, a resolution that most of us believed was a slam dunk was defeated because it had Greene’s name attached to it.

In part, her resolution stated, “Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, in his inability to enforce the law, has engaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties as a civil officer of the United States.”

Eight Republicans crossed the aisle to join Democrats to defeat the measure, giving the left a huge box of ammunition to use against the GOP House members.

Those eight members were Reps. John Duarte (R-CA), Cliff Bentz (R-OR), Ken Buck (R-CO), Darrell Issa (R-CA), Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), Tom McClintock (R-CA), Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) and Mike Turner (R-OH).

Duarte claimed that Greene “hasn’t gone through regular order” and “we don’t have time to waste.”

The Department of Homeland Security pounced, stating, “Every day, the men and women of the Department of Homeland Security work tirelessly to keep America safe.

“They need Congress to stop wasting time and do its job by funding the government, reforming our broken immigration system, reauthorizing vital tools for DHS, and passing the Administration’s supplemental request to properly resource the Department’s critical work to stop fentanyl and further secure our borders.

“Secretary Mayorkas continues to be laser-focused on the safety and security of our nation.

“This baseless attack is completely without merit and a harmful distraction from our critical national security priorities.”

I have just one question to ask… how the hell did Speaker Johnson (R-LA) and Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) allow this to hit the floor without ensuring they had enough votes to pass this resolution?

You don’t put it on the floor unless you know it will pass.

I hate to say it, but the GOP is a complete and utter clown show right now and these idiots are going to cost the conservative movement big time in the 2024 cycle.
