South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem just uttered words that likely brought fear into the heart of teenagers and liberals in her state.
Noem is banning TikTok.
The horde can rest easy for the time being, however, as the app is only being banned on government devices.
No Help for China
On the ban, Noem’s office stated, “South Dakota will have no part in the intelligence gathering operations of nations who hate us.
“The Chinese Communist Party uses information that it gathers on TikTok to manipulate the American people, and they gather data of the devices that access the platform.
“Because of our serious duty to protect the private data of South Dakota citizens, we must take this action seriously.
“I hope other states will follow South Dakota’s lead, and Congress should take broader actions, as well.”
She joins a growing block of public officials, including many Democrats, who want to see the app banned in this country.
Trump had put a ban in place that was being challenged, but Biden withdrew the order when he took over the office.
Many of his critics have pounced, saying it was yet another sign of Biden’s loyalties being poorly placed.
