Recently, on February 25, there was a bloody gunfight in the lobby of Milwaukee Police Department’s District 5. They’re finally talking about it.
Police give statement
On Monday, Chief Jeffrey Norman of the Milwaukee PD finally gave a statement to the press about what happened last Friday.
He confirmed the incident occurred at about 3 p.m. and that “there were a number of civilians in the lobby when a man armed with a gun entered and began firing at police officers.”
Chief Norman relates that seven police officers returned fire, hitting the gunman “multiple times.” That wasn’t the end of it. Darreon Parker-Bell “didn’t go down, and instead fled the scene.” Cops had to put down their donuts and chase him on foot for two whole blocks.
Still breathing but not talking much, Parker-Bell was identified by family members. Officers finally caught up to him near the intersection of 6th and Locust and took what was left of him to the hospital. Doctors say he’ll live.
Police recovered his gun and all “seven officers involved in the incident have been placed on paid administrative leave as is protocol for all officer-involved shootings.”
To protect the rights of the shooter, the West Allis Police Department is heading up the investigation. The suspect’s mother is pleading for leniency.

Bad mental state
Parker-Bell’s mother told local media “that her son had been in a bad mental state because his close friend, Keishon Thomas, died in police custody two days earlier.”
That justifies what he did so turn him loose, liberals insist. Meanwhile over in nearby Waukesha, their department is “investigating that incident.” Three more Milwaukee cops are on suspension over there, “pending completion of the probe.”
The suspects mother relates Darreon “walked into the District 5 police station thinking he had nothing to live for and with the goal of being killed by police.” He almost got his wish.
His Uncle also confirmed that Parker-Bell was “suicidal” but didn’t bother to tell anyone about it or anything. He’s “thankful no officers were injured.” It would never have happened if cops worked faster.
“He said his nephew had been upset because he didn’t think Milwaukee police were releasing information on his friend’s death fast enough.” It’s not like there was any great mystery to it.
On Friday morning he posted “Count down starts now” on his Facebook page along with an article about the death of his compadre. Nobody connected the dots even though he “was convicted of endangering safety with a dangerous weapon in 2019.” They gave him 75 hours of community service and pronounced him all better.
