Recently, Chris Christie announced that he was running for president in 2024 on the GOP ticket.
He stated that he is in this to win it, but that is not his purpose.
His purpose is to try to derail Trump, and he is firing off all sorts of attacks to carry out that mission.
Heavy Hitter
Christie is a one-percenter in terms of poll support, but he could care less.
He will stay in this race until forced to drop out, then he will maintain a presence, likely aligning himself with Ron DeSantis as his surrogate.
When it comes to controversy and debating, Christie is a killer, and Trump knows this.
You see, during the 2016 election, Christie did the same exact thing, only he was doing it for Donald Trump against Jeb Bush.
Since Christie knows he cannot win, he is having the conversations other candidates do not want to have about Trump for fear of being attacked.
To that point, Christie recently stated, “The people in the Republican Party, and quite broadly across America, are tired of having political candidates who are snake oil salesmen who just don’t tell them the truth, who tell them whatever they think they want to hear at the moment.”
I expect one of the focal points for Christie will be social security, since Trump has been hammering DeSantis about it.
Christie believes we need social security reform, but his idea is to stop feeding the rich from the fund and only disperse the money to people that actually need it, basically putting an income qualifier on the benefit.
If Trump shows up for the first debate and Christie is also on that stage, expect the fireworks to fly.
