If you have ever watched “The Wire,” you are quite aware of what juking the stats means.
Well, that is what Joe Biden and his Department of Defense have been doing regarding boots on the ground in Syria.
For months, we have been told we only had 900 troops in Syria, but it was just reported that the real number is 2,000.
All They Do Is Lie
The discrepancy was reported by Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder.
During a press conference last week, Ryder stated that he was completely unaware of the additional troops in the area until last week when he was told.
Ryder stated, “We have been briefing you regularly that there are approximately 900 U.S. troops deployed to Syria.
“In light of the situation in Syria, and in significant interest, we’ve recently learned that those numbers were higher.”
He later continued, “It was explained to me these additional forces are considered temporary rotational forces that deploy to meet shifting mission requirements, whereas the core 900 deployers are on longer-term deployments.
“As you know, for many of our deployments, numbers will fluctuate from time to time, but given that this number is significantly higher than what we’ve been briefing, I wanted to let you know, as soon as I found out this information.”
When Fox News pressed him on the timeline of this, he responded, “Yeah, I think it would probably be fair to say at a minimum, months. “I’ll go back and look. But it’s…yeah, it’s been going on for a while.”
Now, I cannot help but mention this summer, Joe Biden, while tensions were rising in the Middle East, was asked if the United States would be adding troops. Biden responded simply, “No.”
The very next day, more troops were sent.
According to Ryder, the additional troops that he mysteriously did not know about are “transitional” troops only there due to the current tensions.
So, it is good to know that the Pentagon, including not being able to keep track of our inventory or weapons and supplies, also loses track of our troops.
Just add the Pentagon to the list of departments that need to be completely overhauled.
