If there is one thing that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has proven, it is that she runs her press briefing room like a dictator.
When she does not like a question, she either ignores it or tries to belittle the reporter.
In this case, it was a little bit of both.
Months…
The Frontier Post managing editor Jalil Afridi had been suffering the same fate as Today News Africa Chief White House correspondent Simon Ateba.
Both men have rarely been called on by Jean-Pierre, often waiting months between questions.
After about three months, Jean-Pierre finally called on Afridi with National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby at the podium.
Afridi started off by saying, “Mr. Kirby, I’m getting a chance after four months, so I hope I can ask just two questions.”
Kirby then referred to Jean-Pierre, who responded, “Right? I mean, after that statement, that leaves you with one question.”
When Afridi asked if he should combine his questions, KJP went off, stating, “I think you’re wasting our time, sir. Can you please ask a question?”
His question then centered around Pakistani involvement in Ukraine and pushback against Biden after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ousting and imprisonment.
Karine had also ignored a question by a journalist regarding the fact the briefing room had no seating for handicapped journalists.
The question was asked because had earlier touted the Americans with Disabilities Act.
KJP walked out of the briefing room without ever having even acknowledged the question.
