The hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” are continuing their apology tour after the left melted down over their meeting with President-elect Donald Trump, with co-host Mika Brzezinski desperately trying to defend the move against the leftist mob that refuses to allow differing opinions.
Brzezinski and her co-host Joe Scarborough, who is also her husband, announced during Monday’s show that they had met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago as part of an effort to “restart communications” with him after his landslide election victory.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski didn’t go to Mar-a-Lago to achieve unity with Trump.
They went because their network is down 50% viewership and is on the verge of being sold — so they went and kissed the ring.

Almost immediately after the announcement, the left began melting down. Conservatives also mocked the sudden shift, questioning how the leftist co-hosts could go from telling lies about Trump being a “fascist” and comparing him to Hitler, to all of a sudden meeting with him.
Unhinged leftist actress Rosie O’Donnell had one of the worst temper tantrums over the meeting, angrily muttering about it in a video posted to TikTok.
“So Mika and Joe went down to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring,” she whined. “So, last time I ever watch ‘Morning Joe,’ period. End of statement. Unreal, unreal. For months you were telling us he’s the worst thing that could happen to this country and democracy. And then you go kiss his ring. Despicable. Despicable you; both of you.”

Numerous other leftists also melted down over the meeting, including MSNBC contributor Jennifer Rubin. Now, if the left’s narrative about Trump being “literally Hitler” was actually true, their shock and anger over Brzezinski and Scarborough meeting with him would make some sense. Of course, it’s not true, but that isn’t stopping leftists from pushing the narrative.
Meanwhile, Brzezinski and Scarborough have repeatedly tried to reassure their audience that they are still loyal to the leftist cult, desperately trying to explain their decision to meet with Trump and assuring the audience that they still don’t agree with Trump’s policies.
“People are really scared,” Brzezinski told The Daily Beast editor-in-chief Joanna Coles and her podcast cohost Samantha Bee on Wednesday.
“I’ve been surprised at the backlash,” she said regarding the meeting. “And the way I look at it is, people are really scared. And it’s one of the reasons we went in there is people are really scared about Donald Trump’s comments that, you know, political adversaries, a lot of people are scared because of what has happened with abortion. These are all issues that are important to me and in some ways personal to me, but definitely personal to the people I really care about.”
Brzezinski went on to point out that it is part of the job of a journalist to speak with people that she disagrees with or even those who have personally attacked her, adding that she believed it was a mistake for “Morning Joe” not to speak with Trump for the past few years.
“Well, I mean, it’s my job to interview and talk to people I disagree with, feel threatened by or who have hurt my feelings in some way. So here’s how I do it. I do my job. I mean, do I really not go in there because he tweeted about me bleeding badly from the facelift at Mar-a-Lago, I don’t know, eight, nine years ago?” the MSNBC host asked. “I mean, we haven’t talked in seven years. And I will say that’s a problem, too.”
“So I’m worried about myself and how I conduct myself in this media universe that we’re in, taking stock of everything that has happened,” she added. “I don’t regret anything I’ve said during the campaign, and I stand by it. But I’m also looking at how to do things differently. And I would never turn down an opportunity to gain insider information. Never. So how I handle mean tweets or the personal stuff is that that’s just not something I’m supposed to worry about. That’s my job.”
Meanwhile, prominent leftists aren’t the only ones reacting to the Trump meeting, as reports indicate that a boycott of “Morning Joe” may be underway. On Tuesday, just one day after Brzezinski and Scarborough revealed that they had met with Trump, the show had one of its lowest-rated episodes of the year — averaging just 680,000 viewers, which is a 38% decrease from the show’s 2024 average. This comes as Comcast is contemplating selling MSNBC due to declining ratings, which has prompted Brzezinski and Scarborough to express concern that they could lose their jobs.
