Prior to the E. Jean Carroll rape case verdict, Donald Trump was leading Joe Biden in popular vote polls by about seven points.
That changed rather dramatically in the latest round of polling.
The Yahoo poll now has Biden leading Trump by two points, 45-43.
What Now?
The poll really did not have a lot of good news for Trump.
Considering 65 percent of those people said that Biden was too old to run, that is a pretty devastating blow for Trump.
On top of the Carroll case, Trump now has the CNN town hall to deal with.
As far as his base was concerned, the town hall was an overwhelming success.
That, however, was not the feedback I was seeing on social media from moderates and independents.
Trump is still the overwhelming favorite to win the nomination, so this is far from over for him.
If he wants to do more than just win the nomination, I do believe he is going to have to soften his demeanor.
Like or not, Trump has to get people to like him and stop thinking of him as a jerk, which was the general feedback outside of his base from the town hall.
We have to win the 2024 election, I mean, we have to, or this country is doomed.
Even if Biden is just a lame duck for another four years, the country would not be moving forward and Biden would have veto power.
Does anyone really think we can exist with the current policies in place for a total of another six years?
I know I don’t.
