Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is now enemy number one for House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA).
McCarthy is up against the clock to get budget funding passed, and she is now standing in his way.
Furthermore, she has no plans to turn her no into a yes unless McCarthy removes Ukraine from Defense spending.
The Sticking Point
The issue here is that hundreds of billions of Defense spending is actually for Ukraine.
A faction of the GOP House wants that spending removed so the American people can see what is actually going to our Defense spending.
McCarthy initially agreed to break out the spending, but now he says it will be too difficult.
Greens stated, “I’ve been asking for Ukraine funding to be a standalone vote, not cash hidden inside of other bills. For a moment, it seemed like that would happen. But it didn’t.
“Voting yes on the rule means more money for Ukraine. It’s that simple.
“No one who wants peace should vote yes on the rule to advance the bills.
“That’s why I’m a HARD NO on the rules package and a blank check for Ukraine!”
McCarthy is now calling those out who chose to make this stand at the last minute.
He stated, “I’ve seen some people before, and when crunch times come, they are telling me one thing and walk on the floor they do some else because they have some other plan.
“I think there are a few people that want to take it all down, right?
“For different reasons, different reasons.
“I just do not believe 99.9% of the Republicans want that. I don’t think that’s productive.”

Stop waiting until the hourglass almost runs out of sand to debate the budget, then you have time to actually do something.
Now, McCarthy stands to be blamed for shutting down the government, which could crush Republicans at the ballot box next November.
