The Biden Administration is under fire, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy threatening to launch an impeachment inquiry if the Department of Justice (DOJ) uses David Weiss’s status as special counsel to impede the House Oversight Committee investigation.
Attorney General Merrick Garland recently appointed Weiss to investigate allegations surrounding Hunter Biden after his plea deal collapsed when a United States District Judge rejected both its initial and revised versions.
McCarthy has accused the Biden Administration of lying, citing information that came to light showing that Hunter Biden allegedly created 20 shell companies while his father was Vice President, received more than a million dollars from China, attended business meetings and dinners and earned a new Porsche and $3.5 million in profit.
He has also pointed out irregularities between what President Joe Biden said previously about having no involvement in his son’s business dealings and what is now known.
In addition, records released by the House Oversight Committee show Hunter Biden having received millions from Russian oligarch Yelena Baturina, who was married to Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov until 2019 – totaling nearly $20 million for the Biden family.
McCarthy believes there must be some truth behind Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Zeigler’s testimony during a July 19 hearing held by the House Oversight Committee regarding interference with investigations into Hunter Biden’s finances – since their stories have remained consistent amid changing accounts from other sources.
Back in February, he says they wanted a special prosecutor but were told there was no need for one, yet David Weiss had offered this service privately during discussions with IRS agents which contradicted what Attorney General Garland said publicly at the time.
“The only thing I realize here is the only stories that have not changed are the whistleblowers from the IRS,” McCarthy noted on Fox Business host Larry Kudlow’s show.
Given these disturbing developments, McCarthy is warning that an impeachment inquiry may be necessary if further obstruction occurs preventing access to pertinent information such as bank statements or credit card records detailing where money went and where it came from outside sources.
