The Pennsylvania McDonald’s franchise that former President Donald Trump visited over the weekend has been forced to hire security after receiving threats from deranged leftists over his visit.

On Sunday, Trump visited a McDonald’s location in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he served food to customers as part of a campaign event highlighting Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ evidence-free assertion that she worked at a McDonald’s as a young adult.
Even if I didn't like Donald Trump I'd vote for him just because of this video alone. Unlike Kamala he's actually worked at McDonald's now. This is f—ing brilliant! pic.twitter.com/mybRFD2zlG

During the visit, Trump called Harris out, stating: “Now I have worked here. I’ve worked here for 15 minutes more than Kamala. She’s never worked here… Why would she lie? She shouldn’t lie about it. McDonald’s confirmed that she’s never worked here. But let’s not talk about that. It’s an amazing business and an amazing country.”
McDonald’s responded to Trump’s visit with an internal message confirming that the company was neutral when it comes to the presidential election.
“As we’ve seen, our brand has been a fixture of conversation in this election cycle. While we’ve not sought this, it’s a testament to how much McDonald’s resonates with so many Americans. McDonald’s does not endorse candidates for elected office and that remains true in this race for the next President. We are not red or blue – we are golden,” the company wrote in the message, according to the Associated Press.
Despite McDonald’s confirming that it was politically neutral, radical leftists were still so outraged over Trump’s visit that they resorted to threats against the store.
The franchise owner, Derek Giacomantonio, was forced to take action and hire private security after receiving these threats.
Jim Worthington — who organized Trump’s visit to McDonald’s and leads Pennsylvania’s delegation at the Republican National Convention (RNC) — issued a statement to the Daily Caller confirming that the McDonald’s location has received threatening phone calls and social media messages after Trump’s visit.
Regardless of the threats, Worthington told the outlet that the local community “is really embracing” the restaurant in the days after Trump’s visit.
“The community is really embracing it, and a lot of people have come in here since Sunday just to patronize the restaurant,” he said, adding: “a lot of people anticipated [a boycott] would happen, because that is typical for some Democratic supporters to do, but [the business] hasn’t been hurt.”
Worthington further explained that the franchise owner has been forced to cover the security costs out of his own pocket.
“The guy has maintained the security there at his expense,” Worthington told the outlet, adding that Giacomantonio has thus far refused offers to help with the expenses, stating: “This is, sadly, a cost of doing business, but I value my employees and my customers so I’m willing to bear that cost.”
The Daily Caller also spoke to local residents who witnessed the increased security firsthand. Bucks County resident Jessica Miho told the outlet: “We walked in. It seemed fine. We ordered and we sat down, but then we looked to our left, and there were several armed guards just sitting there. One of [the guards] stepped outside, and I saw him walking around our car. I thought he was checking if we have our insurance or something…Then [my husband and I] are like, ‘these guys are security;’ ‘these guys are really watching and seeing what’s going on.’ It was then I made the connection [to Trump].”
