All it takes to start a riot in Portland, Oregon, is a sign declaring “its OK to be White.” Protests escalated to the throwing of tomatoes on Friday as conservatives shouted through bullhorns at agitated Antifa agitators.
White Lives Matter
“White lives matter” demonstrators “shouted through bullhorns and a counter-protester hurled tomatoes across Congress Street on Friday as squabbling over the flying of a controversial flag two weeks ago showed no signs of stopping.”
There isn’t much coverage out there but Bangor Daily News is helping to keep us informed.
In the latest skirmish, “nearly 100 intermingled demonstrators occupied the four corners of bustling Congress Square, shouting and waving signs in a chaotic scene.” Richard Ward, who’s “its OK to be White” sign sparked the community outrage “stood largely to the side, looking pleased with the discord.”

The former city council member is running for school board. “If this keeps up, I’ll be ready to run for governor,” Ward declared.
The conservative decided on February 1 that his sign would be a great way to kick off Black History Month. The history of free speech escaped school lessons in Portland. That day, he held a flag in Congress Square boldly declaring “it’s OK to be White.”
It got him instantly labeled a racist supremacist. City Councilor Victoria Pelletier called his action “a racist dog whistle intended to intimidate people of color.” She declines to say which of the five words in his flag were intimidating.

Online threats
As soon as Pelletier threw down her race card, the city council was inundated with “online threats.” Several citizens of color showed up to last week’s council meeting supporting Pelletier, as did other city councilors. As a result, “a large anti-racism protest in Tommy’s Park followed, on February 10.”
Deplorable MAGA type conservatives took to the streets in support of Ward and White persecution. On Friday, as Ward and his banner stood proudly in the square, “a handful of out-of-town supporters also stood with him.” Soon, “an even larger group of counter-protesters gathered across the street, with one hurling fruit before he was convinced to leave.”
Being White and proud of it isn’t easy in Portland. “Last time I did this, someone threw a potato at me,” Ward shrugs. “I’m just glad they’re not rocks and nobody is getting hurt.”
Far-leftists stand against "It's Ok To Be White, Black, Brown" banner. They claim that by adding white to the banner lessens the others, so it should be removed. pic.twitter.com/vCg1BqbR5e

Liberals get triggered so easily these days. “Several counter protesters then crossed the street and stood in front of Ward’s flag, blocking it from view.”
Ward had plenty of supporters as well. “Wearing an American flag as a cape, Tina Moon of Scarborough shouted ‘white lives matter’ through a bullhorn.”
Nick Blanchard of Augusta gained fame at COVID-19 mask mandate school board meetings. He was in Portland and defending the Caucasian pride flag. “He stood up here with this flag and all the media around, and the local city councilors, called him a White supremacist,” Blanchard said. “It’s not true.“
