Millionaire Democrat vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz is being blasted on social media after he bragged that his elderly mother is living off social security.
During a campaign stop in Durham, North Carolina, on the first day of the state’s early voting, Walz made a shocking admission about his mother.
The Minnesota governor has an estimated net worth of more than $1 million, according to Forbes, but his mom supposedly has to wait for her social security check to come in each month to feed herself.
“We are all products of our past. When you grow up a middle-class kid in Oakland or in Butte, Nebraska, you care about Social Security,” Walz said, referencing the California city where Vice President Kamala Harris was born and the city where he was born.
Walz, who has lived off of American taxpayers by spending the majority of his career in the “public service” sector, then proceed to attack former President Donald Trump — who was born in a wealthy family and used that wealth to create numerous thriving businesses that pay the salaries of hundreds of Americans. The Democrat millionaire claimed that Trump and all his “rich friends” don’t care or even worry about social security checks.
“When my mom looks for that Social Security deposit to be made in her bank account, that’s how she’s going to feed herself. That’s how she’s going to get things done. He [Trump] doesn’t give a damn if his Social Security check comes or not,” Walz claimed.
These remarks left many social media users shocked, as the notion that the Democrat millionaire would allow his mother to survive off of social security is abhorrent. Users questioned whether this was just another lie Walz told as part of a political stunt — as he has a long history of lying — or whether he truly thought that using the fact that his mom is struggling without his help was a good method of attacking Trump, who takes care of his family and his employees.
“So, let me get this straight, Tim Walz. Your 90-year-old mother would be left to starve but for her social security check. Pretty bad look for you as a son drawing multiple pensions,” Greg Scott wrote.

“Is he lying? If he’s not lying, does that mean he let’s his mom go hungry? I suspect he’s lying or embellishing, using his mom for political gain,” wrote Townhall columnist Phil Holloway.
