One of the main characters of “This is Us” has passed away.
Ron Cephas Jones, who has had very serious health issues over the last three or four years, died.
He was 66 years old.
Gone Forever
Jones played William Hill on “This is Us,” a show that accounted for much of his fame.
His representatives stated, “He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love for the stage was present throughout his entire career, including his recent Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway.
“Ron’s inner-beauty and soul was evident to the huge audience from his multi-Emmy award winning performance on This is Us.”
Jones was a middling actor for most of his career.
He was paying the bills, but most of his appearances were single episodes and small movie roles.
That all changed when he landed “This is Us.”
That led to recurring roles on “Truth Be Told” and “Law and Order: Organized Crime.”
He literally went from almost nothing to having three roles going at the same time.
Sadly, just as his star took off, it burned out.
Rest in peace, sir.
