It looks like we are about to have a new candidate in the GOP field.
It also happens to be someone that I never thought would get into this race.
Rumors are flying that Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) is going to put his hat into the ring.

I feel the need to get something out of the way first because what follows is not going to be nice.
I would count myself among Tim Scott’s biggest supporters.
He is a great voice for the party and I think he would be amazing in the next GOP administration.
In fact, I have been suggesting that if a woman is not chose as VP, it should be Scott, because regardless of who wins this primary, if that person wins the White House and Scott is their VP, he would be the 48th president of the United States.
Having said all that, what in the hell is he thinking jumping into this race?
Scott is a very smart man and he has to know he has literally no chance of cracking through Trump and DeSantis in this election.
Scott is now teasing a big announcement at the end of the month, and I really hope the rumors are wrong.
The only reason I see him doing this is for leverage for a VP slot or high-ranking cabinet position.
In reality, I think he could really be hurting his chances in the next election with a pitiful showing here.
Please, Senator Scott, put this on hold and let’s see how this one pans out first.
