Spice Company’s ‘Republicans Are Racist’ Promotion Backfires Beautifully

One progressively “woke” spice producer thought that sales would go through the roof with their “Republicans are racist” promotional campaign. As soon as word of what they were up to hit the airwaves, a full 40,000 loyal customers walked away.

Spice bottler stunned

The Milwaukee-based liberals who run Penzeys Spices weren’t content to simply put pungent aromatic vegetable substances in a bottle and ship them off to customers. They had to get involved in progressive Democrat politics.

As reported by the Blaze, the spice company is now scrambling to regain lost customers after their “recent promotion declaring that ‘Republicans are racist’ backfired spectacularly.”

Trying to cash in on MLK day, the spice bottler hijacked the movement to “peddle its goods and besmirch Republicans.” They promised to “cheese off racists” with their “Republicans Are Racist Weekend” sale. They did.

That’s when they found out how many of their former customers were Republican. Each and every purchase came with Black Lives Matter stickers.

The controversy started with an email from the spice company to their customers at the time noting, “remember how Republicans did all they could to derail” success of the civil rights effort “by trying to drown out BLM’s message with shouts of all lives matter, and blue lives matter, and lying about the leaders of BLM being Marxists and Communists?

To the socially-active company, all lives certainly do not matter, only Black ones. Penzeys forgot that BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors “openly admitted” that she and fellow BLM co-founder Alicia Garza are “trained Marxists.” The White customers all took the hint.

Terrorists inciting violence

Another thing in the spice company email shows the stark “Black and White” way Americans view the issues.

Remember how Republicans, going against a mountain of evidence to the contrary, once again lied and said BLM wasn’t a peaceful movement but instead terrorists inciting violence throughout the country and then raced out to buy a crapload of guns because maybe they were finally going to get their chance to shoot a Black person? What a bunch of racists.”

Funny how they can consider arson and looting to be “peaceful.” Just saying that there is a mountain of evidence doesn’t produce one. Especially when all the real evidence proves the exact opposite. Media reports note their “polarizing email caused numerous past customers of Penzeys Spices to ditch the preachy spice purveyor.”

The company’s owner admits that particular email “cost his business 40,005 subscribers to the email subscription.” Since then, he coaxed in “30,000 new subscribers.” It’s not enough to keep the payroll going for long. “We are still down about 10,000. Please help,” they beg.

In a last ditch effort to shore up sales, the spice company has resorted to whining. “We’ve set a nice little Boycott Penzeys! surge in motion. It certainly wasn’t unexpected, but if it’s within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help.”

They’re hoping that the pain of chopping away all their deplorable customers will end soon as they grow a more progressive fan base for their products.
