Teacher Caught on Video Paddling Student In Front Of Her Mother For….

A disturbing video captured a Florida principal paddling a 6-year-old girl.

The incident occurred in Hendry County, where corporal punishment is illegal.

And now the principal is facing punishment as a result.

The mother of the young girl captured the shocking footage as the paddling occurred right in front of her.

The principal, Melissa Carter, claimed her reasoning behind the paddling was to teach the girl a lesson over a computer she allegedly damaged.

According to the mother, the school called her on April 13 to explain that her daughter had damaged a computer and she would be responsible for a $50 fee.

And while the mother was willing to pay the fee for the damages, herself and her daughter were brought to the principal’s office.

The identities of both mother and daughter remain anonymous for protection purposes.

The family hired a lawyer, Brent Probinsky, who has turned over the case files to the State Attorney’s Office for the 20th Judicial Circuit. There they will decide whether to bring criminal charges against the principal and a school clerk who had also been present during the incident.

The mother states that she was aware her daughter would be paddled but was also told that a deputy would be present, which there had not been.

Instead of stopping the twisted punishment, the mother decided to pull out her phone to record, hoping that parents “can realize what’s happening” in the school.

WINK News spoke with the mother, who claims she “never hit” her daughter and is now fearful the 6-year-old is traumatized by the incident.

However, investigators have concluded that the mother “sanctioned and consented to the spanking of her daughter as discipline for misbehavior.”

“A parent has the right to use corporal punishment to discipline their children, and similarly has the right to consent that others do so on their behalf,” said Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney Abraham R. Thornburg.

Probinsky is not satisfied with the ruling, as he labelled the paddling as “aggravated battery.”
