ICYMI – Somebody is spreading rumors which led a group of around 500 migrants to attempt an illegal incursion. It happened near El Paso, which has been fairly quiet since they tightened the border with razor wire. Another reason it’s been less chaotic is the unlawful scheme Joe Biden came up with to grant just about everyone parole. He even has an app for that. It actually works some of the time.
Migrants misled across border
According to the New York Post, on Wednesday, February 8, “at least 500 migrants attempted to illegally cross into the U.S. at border hot spot El Paso.”
While that’s old news, this group is special because they were misinformed that “they could get free passage to Canada or laws had changed allowing them to seek asylum on American soil.” Both rumors are half true.
After a couple weeks of breathing room, Border Patrol agents in El Paso “encountered the surge of migrants between 8:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. around one of the main border gates into the country.” There are lots of images and video depicting “hundreds of hopeful asylum seekers from central and south America lined up at the border fence.”

That’s something that hasn’t been seen since Mayorkas declared “parole” will be granted to all who line up and wait their turn. Just pull up the app and ask for an appointment, you’ll get one. It may take some persistence to get through. Also you may need to walk a few hundred miles to a less clogged crossing. They don’t have all the glitches worked out yet.
As far as the Canada part, New York City Mayor Eric Adams took a page from Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s playbook. He’s offering migrants a free bus ticket to Canada if they want it. Asylees quickly started migrating north, to discover that Canada is covered in snow and also that they aren’t as welcome as they had been promised.
Once they got a good look around Ontario, they begged for tickets back to New York. It seems that update reports from the northern border haven’t made it all the way to the southern one, yet.
Sorry, you can’t come in
All the asylees were from Venezuela and under the impression that “border policies had changed and they would be allowed to stay in America if they crossed the border.” They were also aware that New York City is funding “free bus tickets to migrants who want to pursue asylum claims in Canada.”
Border Patrol was quick to correct the errors in their information. Title 42 is still firmly in place, no matter what Alejandro Mayorkas does on the side. Anyone who dares cross the line without that parole deal gets shipped right back to Mexico. They also get blackballed from asking for parole.
Governor Abbott couldn’t resist bashing Mayor Adams for his sudden political U-turn. “New York City is busing migrants north after attacking the Texas busing mission,” he tweeted.

“They experience a FRACTION of what small Texas border towns deal with every single day. Biden’s open border policies forced Texas to step up. Now, NYC follows our lead.”
Adams was forced to accept the reality that there aren’t enough resources to feed and house all the invading asylum seekers. He may look like a hypocrite but he’s also a realist.
He continues to defend “the busing program, claiming he is helping migrants reach their preferred destination.” The migrating Latinos, it’s being reported, “regret their decision and soon turn around from the frozen north to head straight back to NYC.“
