Trump Plans To Sanction International Criminal Court

Trump Plans for Immediate Action

A new report has indicated that President-elect Donald Trump plans to implement strong sanctions against the International Criminal Court in The Hague in an executive order almost immediately after taking office.

These sanctions come as a response to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) insane anti-Israel leaning, as the court has repeatedly attacked Israel for defending itself while essentially excusing the terrorist nations that have been attacking Israel. Trump reportedly plans to use the sanctions to force the ICC to withdraw arrest warrants issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benhamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister, Yoav Gallant.

Reports indicate that the incoming Trump administration considers these outrageous arrest warrants to be a threat to U.S. national security, as they are designed to prevent the U.S. and its allies from using military defenses to protect Israel and fight global threats. Trump and his GOP allies in Congress also reportedly believe that these arrest warrants could be a precursor for the ICC to issue warrants against American officials next.

According to these reports, Trump’s sanctions will not only target the ICC as a whole, but also individual ICC personnel such as judges and prosecutors. The incoming president is allegedly planning to classify the ICC as an organization that threatens U.S. interests. The Post Millennial reported that this move is “similar to how the US State Department targets terror organizations and will level restrictions on anyone involved with the court’s operations.”

If the sanctions are implemented, financial institutions throughout the globe will be forced to cease their relationships with the ICC and its personnel, or they will face U.S. sanctions too. All ICC personnel will thus be unable to use credit cards or even to perform basic banking operations and financial activity, other than purchasing essential goods like food — which is exactly what the ICC was trying to do to Israeli officials and civilians. All of the ICC’s U.S.-based assets, as well as those belonging to ICC employees, will also be frozen due to the sanctions.

Along with the international sanctions, the incoming Trump administration is also allegedly planning to influence U.S. allies to commit to rejecting cooperation with ICC arrest warrants that target Israeli officials.

The ICC has been under fire for some time over its embrace of radical anti-Israel and even anti-Semitic principles, with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK) calling the ICC a “kangaroo court” and deeming its prosecutor Karim Khan a “deranged zealot.”

“Woe to him and anyone who tries to enforce these lawless warrants. Let me give everyone a friendly reminder: The US law on ICC is known as the ‘Hague Invasion Act,’ and there’s a reason for that. Think about it,” he added.
