Two teenagers, Jaydon Pettitpas and Aidan Hart, were hanging out when they spotted what appeared to be a creature covered in foam in the Canadian province of New Brunswick.
The two teenagers were shocked to see that the little creature resembled a monster from a Hollywood film. It was initially unclear what it was when they walked over to check on the strange creature. It was not moving, but they later discovered that it was in desperate need of assistance.
Pettipas and Hart realized that unless someone took immediate action, the creature wouldn’t survive. They quickly entered a grocery store, snatched up a milk container they might use to contain the animal, and then started making calls to friends and family to ask for help.
Aidan’s mother shares the same passion for animals that her son does. She pushed the boys to take the animal right away to a veterinarian.
“After calling a few people for help, one of the boys’ moms finally called me at the vet clinic,” Dr. Melanie Eagan, owner of the St. George Veterinary Clinic said.
The group called Dr. Eagan and then drove over 21 miles to the St. George Veterinary Clinic to deliver the animal.

Eagan acted quickly, putting the animal under, and then set about the difficult task of using rubbing alcohol and a flea comb to remove all the insulation foam from the tiny body. She was astounded when her efforts actually paid off.
The foamy creature was a squirrel! The two teenagers had a hard time believing what they had seen.

The insulation foam had somehow coated the squirrel. The squirrel may have run into the wet substance. It dried all over him, and the poor little guy was immobile. Thanks to the kindness of these two teenagers, the squirrel was saved.
“He was pretty excited to get out of the clinic and up a tree,” Eagan said. “If it hadn’t been for those teenage boys, he would not have lived.”
