Ukrainian-Born GOP Lawmaker Slams Biden’s Reaction to Russian Invasion

In a passionate speech on Tuesday, Ukrainian-born Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN), called out Joe Biden’s ineffectual response to the Russian invasion of her home country.

Slamming the administration’s handling of the crisis, Rep. Spartz said that Joe Biden will have the “blood of many millions of Ukrainians” on his hands.

“This president needs to get his act together and exercise some leadership. What’s happening under his watch is an atrocity,” the Ukrainian-born congresswoman said during a House Republican press briefing on March 1st.

“He must act decisively, fast, or the blood of many millions of Ukrainians will be on his hands, too,” she added.

Rep. Spartz went on to call out Joe Biden for “embarrassing” the United States in Afghanistan, and to warn the American people and Congress that we cannot let Biden embarrass us again.

“What he is doing is embarrassing for the leader of the free world… He knew that we got embarrassed in Afghanistan and he wants to embarrass us again,” she said.

“I, as a member of Congress, cannot let him embarrass our country,” Rep. Spartz added. “We’re the greatest country in the world. We are the strongest people in the world. We cannot let him embarrass us, or we will be a laughingstock for the rest of the world.”

The Ukrainian-born congresswoman then called on Biden to pause U.S. purchases of Russian oil exports, which he curiously left out of his recent sanctions on the country. The Biden administration has faced a lot of criticism in recent days for importing oil from Russia while pushing for greater restrictions on U.S. oil and natural gas production.

“We produce energy cleaner than anybody in the world,” Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) said on Monday, February 28th. “We’re buying 650,000 barrels a day from Russia. It’s ridiculous. Totally ridiculous.”
