Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is back in the headlines, but not in a good way. A recent video posted on X by Never Back Down super PAC highlights how Ramaswamy has been allegedly copying quotes from former President Barack Obama.
The video shows similar or identical phrasing being used by both politicians.
This has led many Republicans to question whether or not Vivek is indeed ‘the Republican Obama’.
It's not just once: Vivek Ramaswamy has been copying a lot of Obama's lines.

When asked about being dubbed ‘the Republican Obama’, Ramaswamy responded by saying “There are elements of that that I’m actually leaning into”. From there, multiple examples demonstrate how similar his rhetoric sounds to that of Barack Obama’s.
Several examples include “These are not Democrat or Republican ideas. These are fundamentally American ideals” and “If somebody has repeatedly crashed your car, do you want to turn over your keys to the same people who crashed it?”
The Never Back Down PAC isn’t the only one calling out Vivek for plagiarism though.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie even accused Ramaswamy of plagiarizing during an Aug 22nd GOP debate.
Not only does Vivek appear to have copied language from Barack Obama but Mediaite reported he also repeated some phrases used by failed Pennsylvania Senate candidate Kathy Barnette who was advising his campaign.
There were phrases such as “MAGA doesn’t belong to Donald Trump; MAGA belongs to the people” and “America First does not belong to Donald Trump. It doesn’t belong me. It belongs to those voters we just looked at. It belongs to the people of this country.”
This shows that while Vivek may be inspired by President Obama’s words, he appears to have taken from other sources as well which could cost him come Election Day if proven true.
Despite this advice, RealClearPolitics currently show him in fourth place in the GOP presidential race behind Trump, DeSantis and Haley.
