The radical leftist Washington Post is facing massive backlash after they shared, then quickly deleted, a post shaming the family of an Israeli-American man currently being held hostage in horrific conditions by Hamas terrorists.
Ronen and Orna Neutra, an Israeli-American couple whose son Omer is one of many hostages still being held by Hamas in Gaza, delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC) about their son’s plight.
Thousands chant “Bring Then Home” as the parents of American hostage Omer Neutra issue impassioned plea at the RNC for the release of the 8 American hostages.

In response to their speech, which received widespread support from the RNC audience, the Washington Post posted on X condemning the grief-stricken parents for not speaking “about the ferocity of Israel’s counterattack” against Hamas terrorists in Gaza.
The Friday post was quickly deleted following backlash, though screenshots of the shocking comments were shared and condemned on X by many commentators, including Stephen L. Miller.
“Omer Neutra has been missing since the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. When his parents speak publicly, they don’t talk about Israel’s assault on Gaza that has killed over 38,000 Palestinians, according to local officials. Experts have warned of looming famine,” the outrageous post read, linking to the published story from the Washington Post.

Miller went on to excoriate the Washington Post in a follow-up tweet, writing: “Almost no other media outlet deserves to go under than Wash Post. Look at this. A writer and their editors got together and decided to publish a story about a hostage taken by Hamas on October 7 and guilt their family over how many Palestinians have allegedly died.”

After the post was deleted, the outlet shared a weak apology in response to the backlash.
“A previous post referencing the below story was unacceptable and did not meet our editorial standards, and The Post has deleted it,” the supposed apology read. “The reporter of the story was not involved in crafting the tweet. We have taken the appropriate action regarding this incident.”

Despite the so-called apology, the published story referenced in the original tweet still contains similar language attacking the Neutra family for daring to care more about their kidnapped son than the terrorists holding him.
“When the Neutras speak publicly, they don’t talk about the ferocity of Israel’s counterattack, which has killed more than 38,000 Palestinians and left nearly 90,000 injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry,” the report, written by correspondent Joanna Slater, read. “Swaths of the territory have been pulverized and international experts have warned of looming famine.”
“What’s happening in Gaza is ‘horrible,’ Orna said, but Hamas could end it by releasing the hostages,” the report continued. “Ronen echoed that sentiment: Hamas is ‘not only holding hostage our son, they’re also holding hostage the people of Gaza.’”
In what world does it make any sense that the parents of a kidnapped person should advocate for their son's kidnappers?! pic.twitter.com/QEjyYJ1XEq

This is not the first time that the Washington Post has been criticized for its coverage of the Israel-Hamas war, as the outlet is known for citing casualty figures released by the Hamas-controlled health ministry. The outlet also has hired at least six foreign desk writers from Al Jazeera, a “news” outlet known for carrying water for terrorist groups like Hamas.
